This document provides late-breaking news about Thing Reporter version 1.0.2 for MacOS from Unthinkable Research. You may want to print this document for reference purposes.
Thing Reporter is a simple application that provides basic information about the globally registered components installed on a MacOS computer.
System Requirements
Thing Reporter requires MacOS version 8.1 or later, and QuickTime 3.0 or later. Thing Reporter runs on any PowerPC-based MacOS computer, including third-party clones; it does not run on 68K-based MacOS computers. Thing Reporter has not been qualified under any release of MacOS X at this time, although it is our intent to provide a Carbon–compliant version of this software at a future date.
Version 1.0.2
Changes In This Release
• Fixed a bug where the QuickTime version was not being decoded correctly.
• Added Balloon Help to the “Components” window and to the menus.
• Added additional navigations keys to the “Components” window. The left and right arrow keys now navigate between the columns.
• Fixed a bug where the “Components” window contents were not updated properly (in particular, the open instances column).
• Fixed a bug where a Type 3 error dialog would be displayed if Thing Reporter were launched with all extensions disabled.
• You can quickly scroll the list in the “Components” window when the list is sorted by name, type, subtype, or manufacturer by typing an alphanumeric key (0 – 9, a – z, or A – Z). The list will scroll to the first component whose name (or type, subtype, or manufacturer) starts with the key that was typed.
